Spring Release - Newsletter

Greetings from Bannockburn,

Spring has arrived in the Moorabool Valley and the vineyards are looking vibrant. Following a smooth and timely pruning season thanks to the terrific work of our vineyard crew, the new growing season is off to an excellent start.

We’re especially pleased to share our 2025 spring releases: Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and 1314 Rosé. The 2025 season was a great one, which will be remembered for its unusually early start. Strong early budburst and excellent fruit set gave balanced crops across the board, and the favourable ripening sequence allowed for measured picking decisions even in a fast-paced season. With no disease pressure and beautifully clean fruit, the wines show the clarity, vibrancy, and energy that defined the year. These new releases are some of the most expressive and precise examples we’ve made of these varieties, each carrying a real sense of the season’s character. Needless to say we are incredibly excited about the wines of vintage 2025.

In other news we have just completed an exciting round of new plantings: a high-density Pinot Noir block planted with massale selection cuttings from some of our oldest vines, as well as a new variety to the mix; Aligoté, a variety with a rich Burgundian heritage and an exciting future here at Bannockburn. These additions reflect our ongoing focus on site expression and diversity, and we’re eager to see how they develop over the coming years.

It’s been a pleasure to see our Single Vineyard release continue to earn high praise from journalists and long-time followers alike. A few small parcels remain available on our website store though not for long.

The property itself has rarely looked better: the dam is healthy, the vines are thriving, and the team’s care and attention continue to set the tone for what’s shaping up to be another remarkable season.
